OOOOOOOOOHHHHH MAN!
Fan expo 2007 (aka CNAnime) is finally complete.
I hardly know WHAT to type, because it was beyond my wildest expectations!! Usually Fan expo rates medium on the crazy love scale, as far as conventions go. It was the first con I ever attended waaaaay back in Grade 9, and usually nothing spectacular went down.
THIS time, though...
It all starts about 2.5 weeks priar to the convention, wherein our plans to cosplay a huge REBOOT group are taking place. 9 Days before the con, things are coming together and an INSANE amount of work is being done to finish it all off. As always, the vow that Liz,
glayish, and I made to bring DBZ costumes to EVERY con held true... but somehow Glay and Liz decided to wear FREEZA and ZARBON on the Friday. Talk about your crazy ideas...........
Anyways, so we're struggling to finish Reboot costumes on Thursday night, panicking and generally being EXTREMELY frantic. Glay and I are still in Waterloo, Ontario, and freak lightning and thunder suddenly crash, sending the entire house into utter pitch blackness. FEAR like no other passed through that house, man. We need electricity to finish our costumes oh god!!
So, that sent us into even more of a frenzy, in which we ended up leaving Waterloo at 3AM and driving to reach our parents' house in Unionville at around 4:25AM. We then continued working on Reboot there until 6AM on Friday morning.....
Friday afternoon, we make it over to the Intercontinental, Liz's hotel, where we set up and get ready to put on our DragonBall Z costumes.... AHHHH LOL! WHY DID WE DO THAAAAAAT?? I ended up painting Zarbon (Liz) and Piccolo's (Andy, who I forced into costume) faces and we ended up running to the South building of the Metro Convention Center. The humidity was torture. It's good that everyone already had their passes, because we got into the dealer's room with about 5 minutes of Sean Schemmel's (Voice of Goku, King Kai, Gonard, Ojama Yellow, Dr. Vellian Crowler, etc..!!) autograph signing time left. Of COURSE we didn't know where the signing area was, so we got turned around a LOT and by the time we found it we were completely sweaty and ready to collapse... and then, the huge guy in front of us says there's no more people allowed in line.................
But......
Like a cool ray a shining healing LIGHT....
Sean Schemmel.
He sees us and grins and is all "Wow, you- are you guys in line!? I gotta get a photo with these guys!"
And wha ha-heeh-HOOMY GOD he's HANDSOME?????!!!!!!!
................................
I know I was excited to see him and all, and I figured it'd be cool... but ....
He got up because it was time for him to start heading to his panel (Voice Acting 101), but we got to take a few photos with him before that. I asked and got to hug him and he said in Goku's voice "I got hugged by my son!" (AHHHHH!! *_*)... then he saw Andy in the Piccolo cosplay I made him, and he said that Piccolo was his favourite character.
Uh...Uh.... yeah you can guess how lovestruck I probably got...
Anyway, so we go to his panel, because he graciously offered to sign our things at the end of it for us. Personally I'm not interested in voice acting as a career - my voice sucks - But..... hah.. hehh...
I LOVED IT! The entire panel I couldn't take my eyes off him, I swear I was so captivated my eyes were probably sparkling. It was so introspective, informative, funny, and motivational that I'm sure everyone in the room left with a smile on their face. Hahahaha it was hilarious that he talked the whole hour, he even talked while drinking water, baha!
After the panel we went outside and got our stuff signed!! I got some video of it, but Sean seemed wary of stuff getting put on YOUTUBE, so I swore nothing would. But here's some photos!
Yeahaaa ignore the blurriness. The South building has horrible lighting!!!!!

After that we all went back to Liz's hotel room to film some video clips while in cosplay. EW, ok, what? I commented that Piccolo is asexual (one of the reasons I like him so much), and Andy had to be disgusting as say that "PICCOLO HAS JUNK WTF". HARGHHHH I was ready to strangle him.
GO AND WATCH THIS STUFF NOW

Those mostly contain clips from Anime North, but I finished them about a day ago, haha.
Glay and I get home around 10:30PM and, of course, the day STILL isn't over, since we have to complete our Reboot costumes (Dot Matrix and Hexidecimal) for Saturday. I end up staying up until 4AM working on Mouse's wig, then passed out on my bed.
glayish NEVER went to sleep that night!!
..........
Saturday. I'm woken up around 7:20AM by
math_sama. She and
cloudsonvenus (Enzo Matrix) are both already at our house. Supposedly
cloudsonvenus's sewing machine broke at 3AM so she's sewing on ours. AUGH oh MAN, getting ready was a nightmare. LOTS of almost-breakdowns occured during the whole ordeal. Around 11AM everyone's piling into Liz's (Megabyte) hotel room, so there's hot gluing, last minute sewing, and face painting of all sorts going on. We're desperately trying to get everyone into cosplay so we can attend the Reboot panel at 2PM with Gavin Blair (co-creator of Reboot!!) and Jim Su!!!
Most things went alright for the most part, but there was a scary moment when Rae's purple airbrushing for Mouse was screwed up by the guy she hired. REALLY last minute ditch-effort to make her purple, and she had to miss the panel to finish, but I'm so impressed that she never gave up.......
REBOOT OWNED THE CON!!!!!!!!!
Our costumes were SO WELL RECIEVED!!! In the panel it was great!!! We all were late and arrived in different groups, because of the problems getting ready, but it rocked so hard. After the panel we were swarmed for photos and the rest of the day kind of went on like that. It was SUCH good thinking on Liz's and Mike's (Bob) part to sign up for the Masquerade early and ask for an early spot.
HERE'S SOME PHOTOS!

Aw man, it was so... great... if that's the way to describe it... just, everything was great. I still can't believe it. In the green room, as we got ready to go out on stage we got massive cheers from the other contestants... UH WOW O_O!!! Going out on stage, the reaction from the crowd was just shocking. The cheers just got louder. Our audio track was, unfortunately, played too early, but Gord the MC was brilliant and knew how to handle it.

WHAT an experience!! Wow, I just have to give a shout out to Jamie,
jiyoon, and
math_sama for being there the whole time as the groups' personal ninja crew!! And DAMN, of course, ETERNAL love to the Mainframe Players! Liz, Rae, Glay, Sarah, Mike, Jono, Jenna, Jason, Dani, and Featherweight! We rock you guys!!
Soon after our entry we got back in the greenroom and everyone was chanting "REBOOT! REBOOT! REBOOT!" It was startling and I was trying not to be embarrassed, but geeze... holy crap. Immediately we started getting those death-trap costumes off, and all headed back to the hotel room. LOL Reboot "My Two Bobs" episode ended up being on YTV, so we all sat around watching. The big group went to Jack Astor's for dinner and it was really awesome.
.... Oh yeah, but being green isn't really as fun as I thought it'd be...... That stuff didn't want to come off!!
Got home, cleaned up a bit, and SLEPT.
SUNDAY! The most relaxed, comfortable day of the con. Glay and I suited up as Goku and Gohan, and headed down with
math_sama. We saw Sean one more time..... this time Glay got him to sign a pack of Bologna, LOOOOOL..... I'm really really happy that he came to Fan Expo again...he probably won't come back any time soon..... damnit, unrequited love............
While we were in line for Sean, the Masquerade results had been annouced. Rae met up with us right by Sean's booth and as we said bye to him, she goes... "BEST IN SHOW."
I FREAKIn' RUN AND GLOMP HER!!!
BEST IN SHOW!!! WHAT!? BEST IN SHOW!!!! *dies happy* We're Masters. POKEMON Masters, that is... (coughNEXTYEARcough)
The Reboot group went to visit Gavin at his booth and we all picked up the artbooks and got multiple things signed, hehe. Man he's a great guy.
So then Sunday became Shopping day!! Ok Canadian conventions are notoriously bad for the DBZ merchandise but we found a couple things. 3 DBGT DVDS for $7.50!? Oh and I've got a new Piccolo figurine to add to my Piccolo collection... O_o which is actually getting creepy. Oh well, got seperated from shopping partner
math_sama (28 manga volumes!??!), so went out to talk with Andy, Kenpachi, and Glay.
Laughed for 10 minutes straight upon hearing Andy thought Goku's mom was Xena.
Met up with Lianne (Math-sama) again and headed outside into the nice sunshine.
And...

In short.... BEST CON EVER!!!!!!!
